Today is the day!!! Our new album is finally out. We are super proud of the result and have been dying to share it with you.
Made and played by us with guest appearances by Maria Køhnke, Oliver Hoiness, Jakob Millung, Gustaf Ljunggreen, Emil de Waal and Jens Hein. Lars Iversen mixed. It is a beauty! Enjoy ♥
Ein Paradies in dem das Wipp- und Kopfnick-Gen aktiviert wird. Und über allem schwebt die Mundharmonika und der verhallende Gesang. (…) Doch leider hat auch diese Platte ein Ende, wenngleich die Musik von Straight From The Harp noch ewig in den Gehörgängen nachschwingt.

I´M ON FIRE JUST FOR YOU - OUT TUESDAY!!!!
Ich war restlos begeistert. Mit einer Mixtur aus moderner elektronisch angehauchter Musik und zurückhaltender Vocals vermixt mit einem Hauch Blues, ist den beiden mit “I´m On Fire Just For You” ein wirklich feiner Wurf gelungen.

Our brand new video Mon Homme
Shot at Messe Nord and in our backyard cemetery in Berlin. We consider the video a visual love letter to genius chinese director Wong Kar-Wai.
We are super proud of the whole thing and in the unlikely event that it turns out to be our last song and video ever, we would be happy it ended like this.
Our new single Mon Homme is video premiering tomorrow.
Expect: running man, lady in distress… lovesick french lyrics and….
We can´t wait to show it to you! :-)
Behind the scenes for the GoGoGoGoGo video at the beautiful Funkhaus Berlin!
Raised outta Denmark and now based in our much-beloved home Berlin, Straight From The Harp caught our attention with these two wonderfully artsy fartsy DIY-videos and a genre-defying post-punk-electro-blues sound.

Interview at HørLigeHer
A short questionnaire for the Danish boy/girl outfit Straight From The Harp. The band will release their second longplay “I’m On Fire Just For You” ultimo May and here’s some of the upcoming stuff: Both video and music is created by the band, and streaming of not-yet-released “Be Together” is exclusively brought to you by HørLigeHer on behalf of the band. With a residence in Berlin this band got the finger on the pulse, however, these guys loves to keep it classic. Read an interview with a really promising and cool band (and sorry for the little research mistake, guys… ).
HørLigeHer: Straight From the Harp, a musical statement? What’s behind your band name?
Straight From The Harp: Ha ha yes we know, we get a lot of comments about it. The band name has suffered some hard times and people even wanted us to change it. But it has stood through it all. It is like an ugly puppy that you grow to love.
HLH: You will release your debut in May. Can you reveal a few words about it?
SFTH: It is actually our second album. Most of the album was recorded during winter time in our old and very cold apartment in Berlin. The room in which we were recording was overlooking the train tracks and a very large supermarket. Both influenced the album a lot. It is dreamy, sexy, cheap and powerful at the same time.
HLH: This intense sound and your powerful images. Where does the inspiration come from?
SFTH: We love delta blues and 50´s rock n´ roll music. We consider it our finest mission in life to bring the blues safely and sexily into the future.
Stylewise we are very fascinated by the classic man and woman looks of the fifties and sixties, especially Alfred Hitchcock´s stylist Edith Head who created some beautiful outfits and combinations.
Chinese director Wong Kar-Wai is also an inspiration. Just beautiful. Check him out if you don´t know him already.
HLH: Any records in heavy rotation at the moment? SFTH: We recently watched HBO series Treme and have been listening to a lot of Professor Longhair and Irma Thomas since. An album called “Sacred Hawaiian Melodies” by Bud Tutmarc have been a recent favorite as well. It is the kind of music that brightens up the darkest of days and generally makes the world a better place. We found it along with lots of other good stuff at the great music blog Ghost Capital which everyone ought to pay a visit some time.
HLH: What’s you guys’ favorite cheese?
SFTH: Signe likes brie and Jarno likes blue cheese.
Straight From The Harp is a Danish band living and working in Berlin, Germany.
Danish Indie Label Auditorium released the band's self produced debut album 'Rain Rain Down Down' in March 2010. To the band's knowledge 'Rain Rain Down Down' is the only album in the world merely consisting of electronic beats, blues harp and vocals.
Since the band's formation in 2008 they have played numerous shows in Germany, Denmark and France, and they are determined to conquer more nations and more hearts in the years to come.
Their sound is extremely cinematic and their entire musical universe is build upon visual elements from a magical neverland of sandstorms and stardust.
November 2010 Auditorium released Straight From The Harp's remix album featuring collaborations with some of the band's favorite artists such as The Sad Lovers, Spejderrobot, Howl Baby Howl og Michael Møller.
